Idle Jackson

• January 17th, 2012

This Idle Hour gig has been the most fun I’ve ever had in my life. The reason being is ever since starting it I’ve gone out to do more and experienced more than I ever have in twenty five years of life. My most recent adventure was “escorting” Frankie to a company event being thrown at the place he’s temping at. (I’ll end a sentence with a preposition. I’m thrice a college drop out!)

The event in question was a Cirque du Soleil show based on the work of Michael Jackson. Right!? Words cannot describe the sensory overload we, as an entire united auditorium, experienced!!! Also, there was a fit lady that did in interesting routine to the song “Dangerous” that involved a very tall pole. I can’t remember much else as she was doing the majority of the number in line sight of a spot light.

Oh right, the listen to part! This week we start it off by discussing our expectations of the impending marvel we were about to experience. The second part Frankie and I attempt to carry on an intellectual political conversation to the usual result of pot and dick jokes. Part the Third: “The Final Talkening”, we divulge the secrets to weight loss, financial well being, and the ever popular how to find the one, with the usual result.

Download us, pop us in year ear, and take care of a couple of errands. When you’re done, make like a Fraggle and dance your cares away!

Download and listen in to the hippest show on the ‘net before we sell out and your parents start listening!

Bouncy

• December 11th, 2011

Damn, it’s hard to write sketches. I like writing ‘em but I hate sitting and starting. Blank pages don’t really lend themselves to great story telling. New Word documents should open with like a Madlib on the front page or something. Sketch writing would be easy. “FRANKIE walks down stairs to get a piece of BUTT!” Already at least 30% funnier than anything that’s ever been on the show.

This week on the show Jon and Frankie (me) drive to yet another party but one that was to be attended in normal clothes this time! Listen in to their (our) conversation as Jon (him) drives and talks at the same time! Try to focus your laughter away from the haphazardry and towards a new sketch and an old sketch from another episode because I (Frankie) play way too many videogames! Be totally justified in everything you’ve thought about us!

Idle Hour, you know you want to!

Pajama Party

• December 4th, 2011

Damn, it's hard to write stuff while SNL is on. Maybe I'll just wait until musical guest comes on, they usually suck. No, I will write through it! This week Jon and Frankie drive to (and from) a party intended to be attended in one's sleeping garb or as teenage girls call it a "Pajama Party". Learn about the fears and predictions that accompany their travel as they discuss them out right! Be amazed by sketches that take place between musings! Forget your troubles and take on ours as we pretend we're getting over them! Oh shit, SNL is hilarious!

Stay In Your Own Lane

• November 28th, 2011

Frankie and I are at it again, NO, not that! Sick-ohs. We climb our ways out of the pits of self loathing to bring to you, the paying consumer, an all new, ear pleasin', episode of the Idle Hour! The number one podcast among people I've paid five bucks to say they like me, er, the podcast. Did I mention that this episode is on the house? I didn't? Well, I just did. That's right, this episode is free of charge. Plus, be thankful that you didn't have to stand in a long old line, with people you don't know, who probably stink on ice because of all the food they jammed down into their already abused stomachs, but I digress. This week's special guest is none other than Bay Area awesome guy Mean Dave! He's the host of a radio show on fccfreeradio.com, Sunday nights from 10am-12am. If that's too late for your sleep heavy noggin, he also releases a downloadable podcast version of the show. Tell them Frankie and Jon sent ya' and get the podcast for free! Beat this deal! Go ahead. I dare ya'! Thanks for clicking by!

Year One

• October 16th, 2011

Here we go again. Threepio said that, but that's beside the point. What I'm here to tell you is that the newest Idle Hour is a like a firecracker in your Chipotle burrito bowl! That's right, the two guys that don't have anything better to do with their time made another episode of every one' s favorite podcast that no one knows about! This time around Frankie and Jon talk a little about their first year as open mic comedians, then quickly forget about all that nonsense and discuss the forthcoming release of Batman: Arkham City. Anyway, if you download, listen, and pass on this newest episode of the Idle Hour you're pretty much guaranteed acceptance by society as a whole! You want to be accepted, don't ya'?

Return of the Red Eye

• October 9th, 2011

Doth thine eyes deceive you? Be it a new chapter in the chronicle of idle times? It be! Idle Hour is back this week with more guests that couldn’t avoid Jon and Frankie in the hallway! This week Jon talks with an actual lady which is something he hasn’t done since probably high school! Go Jon! Mostly though Shanti Charan is a hilarious fellow Bay Area comedian of whom the Idle Boys have heard great things. Listen and find that their hearings were correct! Frankie, on the other hand scrambled to find someone at the last minute and turned to an old music collaborator and friend, rapper/beatmaker David Abrams who was more than happy to talk about the good old days of nerd rap (a little over 4 years ago!). Listen and be compelled by Idle Hour’s ability to make you wish you had more acquaintances and less actual friends!

The Entropy Strikes Back

• October 3rd, 2011

Here we go with the fifth episode of an all new Idle Hour! Will we overcome the dark side and stay true to ourselves, is Frankie my father, does anyone read these? Anyway, we have a new episode with three all new interviews! That's right, three! Listen as Sam Hunt lays down his philosophy on fishing for big trophy fish off the coast of New England, Stroy Moyd entertains local pedestrians with a display of card tricks and fire eating, and Sergio Barajas tells an off color anecdote about a peppery weekend he spent in a small Kentucky motel.

You may be asking yourself, "Does any of this really take place?" I'm here to re-assure you, so download the new episode and enjoy the thing for al its worth. Remember, we take an hour to make it so it only takes you half an hour to listen. It's win-win.

A New Hoax

• September 26th, 2011

Word up, yo! It’s another episode of Idle Hour complete with an oddly proportional mix of somewhat witty banter and incredibly inane drivel! This week Jon and Frankie make new friends the only way they know how: awkwardly! Our heroes (who are rarely seen outside of the Bay Area) get into deep conversations with out-of-towner Jesse Hett and REALLY out-of-towner Steven Mortiboys (that’s his real last name). Everyone learns many things from each other but mostly delight in the fact that they are all around the same age. Exquisite!

*Surgeon General’s Warning: not listening to Idle Hour on a weekly basis may increase the risk of boredom-related cancer.

Newark Days

• September 19th, 2011

Hey kids, it’s time to pull up your hoodies and hide those earbuds so your teachers don't catch you listening to the Idle Hour in class! This week out heroes talk to Frankie’s cousins Jesse Medeiros and Anthony Gerber who remain individuals despite their similar ages and upbringing! Also, the Newark Days Parade they had attended only moments before being recorded is mentioned slightly! You will surely be amazed by our collective intolerance to not talking!
